We hire the school hall for our classes, so the school office can't answer questions about karate. Please contact the dojo directly.
Class times
- Tuesday, 5:00 – 6:00 pm: kids class
- Tuesday, 6:00 – 7:00 pm: adults class
- Thursday, 7:00 – 8:00 pm: adults class
Message us before your first visit so we can confirm the class is on that week. The hall is sometimes unavailable during school holidays.

Strowan sits between Papanui Road and the north-western suburbs, so the dojo is convenient if you're looking for karate classes near any of these:
- Papanui and Northlands, just to the north.
- Merivale and St Albans, to the south-east along Papanui Road.
- Bryndwr and Burnside, to the west.

Why train in a school hall?
Karate needs very little: a clean floor, enough room to move, and a good teacher. Traditional dojos in Japan are plain rooms. Hiring a hall keeps costs down for students, and puts the attention where it belongs, on training.
Before your first visit
- Arrive ten minutes early so you can meet the instructor.
- Wear a T-shirt and track pants, and bring water.
